Second Baptist Church, West Campus

Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing! Raised in a religious family, at age 16 (which I am still) I went through a spiritual crisis and felt a need to go to church more often and tried this place out. I really liked it at first and thought I sincerely had a relationship with God. I almost got baptized here (which thank god I didn’t or else I’d permanently belong to this church) However, behind the curtain was just deception. A billion dollar asset and shutting down people’s say in pastoral succession and how the money is spent? Just disgusting. Ed Young, their old pastor, allegedly lives a lavish lifestyle… who would have thought? And the church’s leadership cheated people by basically handing Ed’s son, Ben, a spot, and it hasn’t been the same. Especially because I have given this church 2 shots, it stung so much that I realized this was another disgusting megachurch. Services were almost always about self improvement (“Shame Cycles,”, “What God Does,”, “Running With Scissors,” “Knees Over Toes,” and “End Times,” to name a few sermons) and new age thinking with a little bit of Bible mixed into it, but don’t be fooled, this place is a FALSE church. Ever since, I have been drifting further and further away from Christianity, and only if I wasn’t being lied to the whole time. I had no joy or pleasure in giving a church a one star review, but it’s a mix of betrayal and false doctrine. Not to mention a YOUTH PASTOR here got in trouble for inappropriate videos of kids. Hypocrites.

Katy West was a good church until 2019 when Ed Young politicalized it into natonalism. In 2020, culture war became part their disciplship in sunday classes. Their departure from the faithfull teachings of Christ to include nationalism is something unforgettable. My wifes YOUTUBE comments where sensored at the time the church transsitioned into Nationalism and we felt that we should never to return to Second. Ive met and remember so many Baptist believers in my walk with christ that were faithfull to the teachings Christ, but Second became antithetical. If you are looking for a church, please consider smaller non nationalistic churches that havent given themselves to this ANTICHRIST culture.

A big church but gets smaller as you integrate through fellowshipping & Bible study. The teachings are sound and biblical. A must visit but take heed, you will want to stay😜
