Neartown Church

Full disclosure: I'm a member of this church. But, that means I can provide more than just a review of a Sunday service. I know the leadership and a great deal of the community here, and I can say it's an excellent church. My family has served here for several years now, and we have grown to love these people. The church strikes a great balance of grace and truth, is clear in its message, and firmly rooted in the Bible. Yet, they are intensely people-focused. They love on visitors and work hard to incorporate new people. It's ironic, but in a city as big as Houston it's often so hard to find real, authentic community, a place of belonging. Neartown does a good job of fostering that kind of connection with others, centered in Christ. If you've just moved into the area and are looking for a solid church, firmly rooted, and also a fun community, you should give this one a try. Or, if you don't consider yourself a Christian, but you're looking for something that offers hope, Neartown is a great place to start that journey.

So happy I found this church! This is the first time I have felt connected to Houston since I moved here almost 2 years ago. Have already met so many genuine and inviting people and for the first time in my life I can actually say I'm excited to show up on Sundays! Pastor Russell is relatable and easy to listen to. I felt like I fit in despite not attending church for many years. There is nothing to be intimidated about at Neartown--go try it out!

Sharing of the Gospel of Grace. Open armed friendly, loving congregation . All are welcomed, so come as you are. Let's partake of His unyielding ,unending ,overwhelming flood of love and grace together

I started attending Neartown a year ago, and was impressed by their biblical teaching and focus on practical application of biblical concepts. It is a friendly, loving place I would recommend to all!

I was brought up Catholic but felt there was something more. I have been so blessed to have found this community of fellow believers. People who are real and just want God as there reason Thank you Russell and Jeanie for this awesome church
