Gather Houston

A few years ago, I was ready to give up on church. I went to Gather as a last ditch effort. Two things they said stuck out to me: 1) “We believe our beliefs are never more important than the person right in front of us.” 2) “God’s never needed to change his mind about us, but maybe we need to change our minds about God.” I’ve kept going and it’s been a safe place for me to heal from religious trauma. And the best part - make some new friends 😊

This is a wonderful church, and I really love this place. Pastor Josh is such a talented speaker who always puts a lot of effort into preparing his messages. He speaks from the heart and genuinely shares his thoughts, making every visit meaningful.

The most amazing, welcoming, safe, Jesus centered space with an incredible pastor and community. Josh is an incredible pastor that holds Jesus at the center of his teachings and genuinely strives to live and teach a Christ like life. I moved out of state about 3 years ago, and I still think about and miss Gather every single Sunday. That’s how impactful this space is. If you want to learn how to live a truly Christ like, Jesus centered life, surrounded by loving people striving for that as well, this is the place to go.

Gather is THE place for spiritual people who are looking for God, along with ways to truly love others, no holds barred. Josh and the congregation welcome all questions and are willing to consider what faith looks like beyond just a traditional, western worldview. It was a place of healing and restoration for me. My only regret is having to leave Houston — I haven’t found a church like it since!

I’ve been going to Gather for about two years and absolutely love everything about it! The teachings are thoughtful, grounded in Scripture, and always focused on what really matters: loving God and loving others. I consistently walk away feeling encouraged, challenged, and more connected to my faith! I’m so grateful to be part of a church that truly reflects the heart of Jesus. If you're looking for a church home where grace, love, and inclusion are more than just words—this is it!!
