Restoration Church

Looking for a church?? It's often very hard to find a new church home. Restoration volunteers will welcome you as family. The worship team will bring you into the presence of the Lord before you hear God's word. Greg, our pastor, will break down God's word and challenge you. He has a gift of delivering God's word in a way that everyone can understand and apply to their life's. He uses quick wit, sarcasm and real life events to keep you in the sermon. All of these things are important. However, it is the way that the church models transparency that really makes it a 5 star worthy church. Transparency is often missing in todays churches. Restoration excels in this area. When the leaders are transparent, then the church members can be transparent. Transparency without fear of judgement allows God to work in mighty ways!

Today was my first day visiting this church . I was welcomed by the men directing cars . And when I got out of my car a very nice woman walked me to the front of the church to wait for the rest of my guests . The church was very warm and inviting. I loved the songs and the sermon. Everyone was very nice and I will definitely be coming back . I loved the fact that the pastor read straight from the Bible . I have been wanting to find a church like this . I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to hear Gods word and understand what you’re hearing to come here. God bless this church .

This one star is because of the decision to hire Gavin Carrier. He is the reason I have not been to church in several years because of the hurt that he caused me. I was in a 12 step group called Regeneration when Gavin was at Faith Bible Church. It is really hard for anyone to understand the issues I had because it’s not a very common issue but I had severe abandonment issues and chose to enter regeneration because I hoped to overcome. However, he and another leader came to a conclusion that I was unhealthily attached to one of the group leaders. They didn’t even know me and yes I viewed one of the leaders as a motherly figure and really needed someone to talk to but that was the extent. They never once came to me to ask me my side of the story. Instead I received an email from Gavin Carrier stating “You mentioned that you feel "unwelcome" at Regen. I regretfully need to confirm that. You are unwelcome at Regen going forward. So please do not come, and if you come, we will ask you to leave.” This caused immense hurt as I thought I finally found a church home. What kind of person and church would tell someone they are not welcome? I would understand if a person was violent or made threats but they just did not understand mental health. No wonder I’m diagnosed with BPD. This was in 2019 and 2020 I attempted suicide again. I have since become a counselor and have grown. I thought about coming back to Restoration Church since I know that Greg Johnson is an amazing pastor and person but with Gavin here, I think he may prevent that. I filled out an information form to join a life group a week ago and no response. That is most likely because Gavin is in charge of groups and he pushes people away that he believes do not “fit in” his idea of church. The website states they would respond to life group information forms within 48 hours but it’s been a week and no response. Church hurt needs to end and be prevented. Mental health and those that struggle socially at times need to be understood and accepted too.

Restoration Church has been an answer to our prayers! When moving to Houston, we desired to find a church to call home- A church that would speak truth straight from the Bible. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re welcomed like family. The worship is Spirit-led, heartfelt, and powerful, drawing you into genuine connection with God (worship is very important to me)! The teaching is grounded in truth, relevant, and delivered with love and clarity. We prayed to find a church that would keep us grounded in faith, teach us from the word/gospel of the Lord - one that would speak truth (the meat and not the fluff), and that is exactly what we found here at Restoration! I cannot speak more highly of the team serving this church to the fullest! If you’re looking for a church that feels like home and equips you to walk boldly in your faith, Restoration Church is it. So grateful to be part of this incredible church and community!

My wife and I attended Stonebridge for a bit with our daughters. I have watched almost all of Restoration's exploration of the Book of Matthew. Because the kids were at grandparents house for the weekend, we decided to visit Restoration Church just the two of us and just wow, where to begin. The worship music was incredible and powerful. Both singers were fantastic, but the female singer, I can say, was the first time in a long time I felt moved to tearing up. Pastor Johnson's capturing and telling of Matthew was incredible. His humility in messaging while being able to capture the essence and power of the Gospel is top notch. He keeps you engaged while not diverting from the true message. It truly was the perfect blend of song and sermon. Everyone we encountered on this visit were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We will absolutely be attending this Church moving forward.
