Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception

Beautiful older church. Could use a little TLC on the outside, but the inside is gorgeous.

The Cathedral is a towering structure in Portland. The Cathedral was build in the 1860s and serves as an example of Gothic Revival. You can develop an appreciation for the sheer size of the building during a walk on the grounds. Note the many windows, which I found to be interesting.

The staff and clergy there is very friendly and don’t shy away from extremely curious people like myself, it’s a beautiful building, they keep us safe even though Bayside is dangerous, I’m excited to become Catholic. I like that there’s a lot of parking, which is very rare in Portland. I also love that they have a microphone so it’s easier to hear. I wish they had cushions on the pews for people with back issues like myself but I understand it’s expensive.
