Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle

I am 84 years old and was married for over 30 years. My wife and I worshiped here together and I trusted this church as a place that honored marriage vows before God. While we were still married and living together, my wife began a relationship with a man she met through this church. She has now moved out to live with him and filed for divorce, yet they both continue to attend here as a couple. I know none of us is perfect, and only God knows every heart, but this has caused me deep spiritual and emotional pain. I feel let down that something like this could grow and continue within a community that preaches faithfulness, covenant, and commitment. I pray that the leadership and congregation will reflect seriously on how they support and protect marriages in their care. This is my personal experience, shared with sorrow, in the hope that others do not go through the same hurt in a place that is supposed to be a spiritual home. Joe Mendez

Amazing pastoral leadership, a friendly and welcoming community, and people who are on fire for Jesus. This church community has a gift of making a big church feel like a true family. You will hear the unapologetic preaching of the Bible, but it will be done while fully displaying the love of God for His people. Whether you are a long time believer wanting to grow deeper in your faith and in Christian community, or you are someone who is just curious about Jesus, Christianity, or church in general, this is a place where you can go, get connected, and grow. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Biblically sound sermons and teachings. Has a growing young congregation. One of the biggest churches on Long Island with 3,000 members, and they have over 100 ministries to get involved in. Joining a ministry is the best way to make new friends and make your experience smaller and more intimate.

This is a phenomenal House of Worship, led by Pastor Stephen. The women's & men's ministries, are popular .There are 2 Sunday services,9:30 & 11:30; come,early stay late and sip,some coffee and tea, in our cafe between services. You are welcome here.Their outreach is Community focused and globally represented and offer short term mission trips. This is my family and my spiritual home, and could not be happier.

Went to service on 3/16/25. Beautiful service. Check out the welcome center after the service. I met a brother there who prayed for me and Gods words were spoken to me through him in that moment. What a blessing it was to have such beautifully worded sentences in prayer. While I love my church, the Tabernacle felt like I right at home there.
