wanted to share something that weighed on my heart today. As a church family, we are often reminded to lead with kindness, compassion, and humility—not judgment. Unfortunately, my son had an experience that fell short of those values. He stood in line patiently behind three children who were served ice cream. However, when it was his turn, he was told the fair had ended an hour earlier and was turned away. While I understand the event may have officially ended, it’s hard to reconcile why others ahead of him were still served. Was it the way he looked? I hope not. To be clear, my son recently graduated high school with a 3.5 GPA. He works a full-time job and is one of the kindest, most thoughtful young men you could ever meet. You never know someone’s story—what if that was the only treat, or even the only meal, he might have had that day? Never forget where we came from because you never know where your going from a mom who’s just confused have a great day. Good morning, It’s clear from your response that my post may have upset you, and that wasn’t my intention. I simply shared how I felt after speaking with my son as a concerned parent. He mentioned that the fair was over — something the person at the time also stated — and that although he had waited in line, he wasn’t told a ticket was needed. Maybe he did have one and didn’t hand it in properly, or maybe there was a misunderstanding. I also mentioned that my son works full-time, so yes, if it were as simple as just buying an ice cream cone, he could’ve done that. But it wasn’t just about the ice cream — it was about the experience and how things played out. Thanks for the kind gesture of offering to pay for it — the sarcasm is noted. Hopefully, in the future, situations like this will be handled differently for another child. Wishing you a great day.
