The best church I’ve ever been to in my whole life. It makes me feel loved, embraced, & welcomed in a way no church ever has. It has such a beautiful, vibrant community. Fr. John preaches a message of love, compassion, forgiveness, serving others, and pursuing social and environmental justice. St. Cecilia’s has given me a spiritual home, and I feel so lucky for it. The parish has brought me peace amidst grief and sorrow, many moments of joy, and a sense of belonging. For example, I’ve never been to another church that proudly embraced LGBTQ+ members and talked about racial justice in the same way. And the music ministry is incredible—I sometimes feel like I am just attending a professional concert when I go to mass. The musicians are all around so talented and dedicated, and the beauty of the music helps me connect with faith and my own emotions. I am so very grateful to everyone at St. Cecilia’s who makes it such a remarkable, special parish.

I went there on Sunday October 19, 2025 for the first time trying to find a church home. I went to the 11:30 Mass and i was 20 minutes early. I had a jean jacket and purple wire sunglasses. Let me tell you the welcome i received! Not one parishioner, not one staff person not one priest spoke to me. Instead I was stared at, made to feel less than and some people just thought I was not worthy. Also having gone to much, much better churches in the area like Saint Paul's in Harvard Square, Saint Cecilia's was a bit drab and what wasnt drab had gold leaf painted on it so it was dusty and golden and gross. I was so happy with how I was received that I left 2 minutes before Mass began! But as I was leaving 10 people who were begging on the front sidewalk asked me for money. So please be aware if you go to "less than" Saint Cecilia's(because thats certainly how Saint Cecilia's made me feel Less Than)you will be accosted outside the church on Sunday mornings by poor people looking for a handout. And they were not terribly kind about it either. I would advise parents with young children who are easily frightened to steer clear of Saint Cecilia's to go to a much safer church. Also please be aware that any 5 star reviews of Saint Cecilia's on their website are probably all computer generated due to the pressing need of all churches needing money due to the Sexual Abuse Scandal. (And please parents never let your child alone with a priest always be in the same room with them when they are talking to your child) Thank you!

One of my favorite churches. The pizza on the first Sunday of the month is such a great way to meet new people. Good people. I remember some amazing speakers at those after mass dinners. Stories that rivaled any Ted talk Thank you st Cecilias Edward Higgins

Please know that any descriptions of “welcoming” in these reviews means you are wildly Leftist, and live in a perfect bubble. Dropped in for mass while visiting, and this was the most political religious service, in fact, the only political religious service, I have ever attended. The alignment of politics and religion has never resulted in good endings.
