What an amazing community! I've been going to Central a couple of months now, attending the eleven o'clock service. Every time, I leave thinking "that's the best one yet". Well it happened again, Sunday September 30, and this time, I have to talk about it. Pastor Larry didn't preach a sermon as much as he told a story, the story of Queen Esther and God's providential care for His people. And man, did he tell it well! It was obvious that he was enthusiastic about the lesson, and that's downright catchy. Add to that glorious music, genuine people, and a real sense of place (that's the geography major in me talking now), and there's no way you can't love it! If you are looking for a church home, please come visit (I'm making it mine!). If you are a tourist in the Phoenix area and you want to see and experience the living history of a beautiful old downtown church, please come visit. If you don't know Jesus, please come visit. He will change your life!

VERY inclusive, friendly; great new younger pastors appealing to young families. Best music in Valley led by Josh Elder, Masters in Music. Universal appeal: classical to African-American spirituals. Members are do-ers in community; operate food pantry; provide scholarships & mission opportunities for young people. Authentic new pastor David: you’ll love him!

I performed a showcase with the AZMTO group. The venue was perfect. The only suggestion I would like to make is that the rest rooms ran out of soap, toilet paper and paper hand wipes (towels) Thank you!

The congregation allows my child's school to utilize the sanctuary for vocal and instrumental concerts. Beautifully cared for with great acoustics.

My husband and I got married here in 2004 and back then the Pastor at the time was great, we paid $800 to have our wedding there and it was beautiful. We moved back to Phoenix and wanted to have our sons baptism here and the receptionist I spoke with in the middle of November told me it wouldn’t be a problem. She took my name, number and email down after we spoke about everything and said someone would email me back with more info. Well almost a month later I had to call back because no one ever emailed/called me back. So I called this past Monday and had to explain everything that had happened and again gave name/number and was told someone would call me back the next day. So I waited on Tuesday and at noon called them again....same process only this time the receptionist said the pastor was going to call us. So we waited...about 3:30pm we still didn’t receive a call so we called again. By this time they must have been closed cause we kept getting the answering service. So this morning my husband called and they told him they would look for the pastor but he was going to call us back. My husband didn’t want to wait so we headed down there and on the way there we finally received a call from the pastor. He was rude and told my husband that he was trying to think of how to respond. Then he said that they don’t do anything for anyone that’s not members of the church period, that’s al I can tell you idk what else to tell you...if your looking for something to put a rubber stamp on it then idk what to tell you, god loves your child anyways (how ever we were married there not members of the church) I also felt like once they heard our last name they weren’t trying to help us out. But that’s ok after this whole experience I wouldn’t want to be a member of that church if that’s how they treat ppl. Cause he wasn’t welcoming at all.
