Someone I know kept nagging me to come back here. I've got to share my experience of what happened to me at this "church" Me & my family went here from the late 80s until the mid 2010s. My family was discriminated against here. My father because he was raised Catholic & from a "Northern State". My mother because her church peers knew about some stuff she'd previously done. From what I understand they judged her relentlessly because of that stuff. When I was a kid I was bullied here by my Sunday school teachers partly because of who my parents were. Also because of where my dad grew up, my Sunday school teachers would tell me something along the lines of "you need to act more southern". My sister from what I understand was bullied by her Sunday school teachers but only a little bit. Church is where you're supposed to feel welcomed by everyone, not to be judged & shamed by everyone of your church peers. I hope to never accidentally drive by this place ever again

I called this Church when my Dad, Brother, and I witnessed a Man (human being) literally crawling on all fours, due to a missing limb, and no wheelchair. This absolutely broke my heart! So, I literally call The First Baptist Church, and asked " Do you all have any wheelchairs?" she told me "yes, in the hallway" so, I preceeded to tell her what I saw,and she put me through to a help- line

Visited this fantastic church yesterday with my granddaughter, Abigail Martin. Abigail's family (Heather & Leland Martin) are members there. This church is truly blessed by God & radiates the Holy Spirit. It exemplifies the Great Commission to "Go ye therefore & teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit...." I was so impressed with their contribution to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering, as well as the goal set for the Annie Armstrong offering. Certainly this exemplifies their dedication to national & international missions. The music program & the director are beyond great! There just aren't words.....So many talented musicians & singers all using their talents to glorify Him! Must mention the organist & orchestra, in addition to the 300+ choir. Finally, the new pastor seems to be a "perfect fit" for this great church! Blessings to you all from a visitor from the beautiful Smoky Mts. of East Tennessee! Sylvia Cook

Very large, Baptist church. The people are generally friendly and hospitable. The music is beyond anything you've experienced before. The sermons are usually nice.
