First Baptist brings traditional teachings of the church into the modern day, focusing on hope and love in these dark times. A congregation welcoming for all cultures, LGBTQIA+, and all ages. It's a lovely place.

Beautiful church on northwest corner of 86th Street at College Avenue. Welcoming congregation. Traditional Sunday worship service, with nice mix of new and classic songs and hymns. Instructional Sunday School classes, as well as other activities throughout the week. First Karen Baptist Church congregation also meets here on Sunday afternoons, and often contributes music to the morning service.

Me and my family got woken up to a red head caucasian guy with glasses about 5”6 and kicked us out of their parking lot because we were connected to their electricity from the building for heat for our kids to stay warm we’re homeless living in our vehicle. The guy took one look at my husband and seen that he is black and started disrespecting him as we thought that they were a Christian church. They tried to take our extension cord as my husband went to go tell him and he threatened us by telling us if he seen us again that he was going to call the police and have him locked up for no reason. He is also the same person that seen us a few days before and called the police and the police seen us and our children in the vehicle doing nothing but staying warm and minding our business. I have diabetes, my husband has Crohn’s disease and I have 3 disabled children and it’s sad how people profile before they know who you are or going threw. I am full blood Puerto Rican, my husband is black and Puerto Rican which makes our children mixed as well. We been trying to get ahold of Evan the preacher at the church to get help and to see if they had resources but I guess churches are not the same like how they use to be. I just wanted to share how things are these days while we are trying to get up on our feet trying to find resources and help. Just wish we were not profiled and judged but god does not judge his children here on earth but sad how now a days people are quick to judge you before they know you. Does anyone remember what it says in the Bible to come as you are and you will not be judged.!! Just saying!!

Stay away from politics, this is a Church of God. I don't want to go to God's Church and hear the arguments of political parties. This is the first time in my life I got up and walked out in the middle of a service.
