I volunteered here once years ago and I just never wrote a review because it wasn’t a thought. I still think about this experience I had when I volunteered at this church’s food drive, so this is the reason for posting this now. The person I was reporting to was very nice. It was the church goers who came out to volunteer gave me a hard time. When I was helping set up the tables and giving food to people in need, some women were gossiping about how I was trying to get attention and calling me Miss America, because I was helping while they just stood there doing nothing. I remember the pastor coming out and said “I guess today brought everyone out”, he was referring to me because he never seen me before. He introduced himself, and I tried to shake his hand, but he said they hug at that church, so he gave me a hug. (I wasn’t a church goer at this church; I just saw a posting for needing volunteers, hence why I was there). There was a lady, I guess she is a regular church goer, who was being ignorant; I remember an Asian man pulled up and I guess he didn’t understand what she was instructing, so he pulled up to get some food, the lady said “somebody go help the Chinese man, he’s doesn’t understand English” she looked at me and people laughed at me. There was a specific woman who was just rude to me, like she would stare at me and roll her eyes. I guess she got mad that I was helping people sort the vegetables from the large boxes; I assume one of the person’s in the group was her husband. I went to use the bathroom and that lady was staring me down, while she was sitting at a table with her husband and kids. While I was using the bathroom, the door handle jiggled. I stated someone is in here; the person didn’t stop jiggling the door handle and continue to force the door open. I, again, screamed someone is in here. The door handle still being jiggled and the door opened, wide opened, while I was on the toilet. I hurried to pull my pants up, washed my hands and go back outside. I didn’t see who did it, but I can speculate who. I went home and cried to my dad, because I didn’t expect to have a bad experience volunteering and helping people, especially at a church. I felt singled out and unwelcome. I wish I mentioned something to someone, at that time, but I was in shock with the overall experience; I couldn’t fathom it.

An amazing church where God’s Word is preached with truth. The praise and worship are powerful and uplifting, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. The pastor genuinely cares he encourages unity, prayer, and personally greets everyone after service. Truly feels like home!

Love my church. Big but welcoming and led by a true man of God.

Large church in a strip mall setting. They have a separate area for kids (church) & another separate area for teens (church). Everyone is friendly, security is definitely appropriate. Visited on 8/28/22 - "Back to the Basics": 1) Some people may not like that you're a Jesus follower 2) Know His value & walk in His authority 3) God can you use whoever is willing

Today was my first visit to the church, and I must admit, I didn’t feel very welcomed. The ushers weren’t very accommodating when it came to seating, and I wasn’t sure where to sit. When I asked, I was placed at the end of a crowded row next to a couple, leaving me with little space. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the warmth of community from the moment I arrived—no one offered guidance for parking or directions to the entrance. When I left, no one greeted me either. I left early because I felt uncomfortable. It’s a reminder that we should treat others as we wish to be treated, with kindness and respect. As the Bible says, “Do to others as you would have them do to you” (Luke 6:31). We never know someone’s personal journey, their gifts, or their potential to bless others. The message and choir were uplifting, but the people’s coldness left a lasting impression.
