Grace United Methodist Church

I’m not really sure what to say? Because since moving to Florida six years ago, this was the first time going to church and I have to say I absolutely loved it! They make you feel so welcome. Both pastors. I’m now committed to going back because of the experience I had with my friends and the church.

My neighbor mentioned to me of a concert she was putting on. So I had to go. It was held in the Sanctuary of the Grace United Methodist Church in Venice FL. Pastor Daryl Allen led the attendants of about 175 people in a brief but beautiful eulogy of Love and Music and the love of music. A celebration of Cello from classical to contemporary. Ann Alton, Matrick Thorpe, and Mary Jeanne Moorman. Matrick is a 15 year old phenomenal cello player guided by Ann Alton. He stole the show with 18 different compositions he played. He was accompanied by Ann on the cello and Mary Jeanne on the piano in about 9 songs. You will be hearing about him for decades to come. He is mature beyond his years. I took my 80+ year old parents and the three of us were thrilled and delighted to see this protégé. For his encour he donned a Harry Potter hat and played a piece from the movie.

What can I say !!! Other than this church and its former pastor welcomed my abnormal family into its arms without judgement. Have helped us throughout our move to Florida. The former pastor Robin has become more than a pastor to us but a great friend. And considering she is part of this church I'm sure the future pastors will offer the same services and kindness
